Dr. BiNa Oh, DMD, CAGS
Board-Certified Periodontist | Dental Implant & Gum Disease Specialist
Dr. BiNa Oh is a board-certified periodontist and dental implant specialist who focuses on diagnosing and treating conditions affecting the gums, bone, and supporting structures of the teeth and dental implants. She provides advanced care for patients with periodontal (gum) disease, bone loss around teeth, gum recession, missing teeth requiring dental implants, and peri-implant diseases affecting existing implants.
With over a decade of experience in periodontology and implant surgery, Dr. Oh has extensive expertise in managing the inflammatory processes that damage gum tissue and bone surrounding teeth and implants. Her treatment philosophy emphasizes early diagnosis, surgical precision, and long-term prevention strategies that help patients maintain both natural teeth and implant restorations for many years.
Dr. Oh works closely with Dr. Quinn Chan, prosthodontist at the Center for Dental Medicine & Reconstruction, to provide comprehensive perio-prosthodontic care. Their long-standing collaboration allows them to treat complex cases involving advanced periodontal disease, failing dental work, dental implants, and full-mouth rehabilitation. By integrating periodontal therapy with restorative treatment planning, they help patients achieve stable, functional, and esthetic outcomes.
In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr. Oh brings a unique artistic perspective to dentistry. With a background in studio art and art history, she combines surgical skill with a refined aesthetic sensibility, particularly when performing procedures involving gum contouring, implant placement, and esthetic periodontal surgery.
Originally born in South Korea, Dr. Oh moved to Massachusetts three decades ago and now calls the Boston area home. After studying English in Deerfield, Massachusetts, she attended Phillips Academy Andover before being accepted into the accelerated seven-year combined B.A./D.M.D. program at Tufts University. Through this program, she earned both a Bachelor’s degree in Art History and Studio Art and her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.
During her training, Dr. Oh received several academic honors, including the Merit Scholarship, the Outstanding Preclinical Achievement in Operative Dentistry Award, and the Association of Tufts Alumnae Senior Award for Ethics, Professionalism, and Citizenship.
Following dental school, Dr. Oh completed a three-year specialty residency in Periodontology at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where she earned her Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Periodontology.
Dr. Oh achieved the distinction of becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, demonstrating advanced knowledge and clinical expertise in the full scope of periodontal therapy and dental implant surgery through rigorous written and oral board examinations.
In addition to private practice, Dr. Oh has served as an Assistant Professor at the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine for over a decade and previously served as a periodontal consultant and clinical supervisor in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at Lutheran Medical Center. She has published and lectured on topics related to periodontology and implant dentistry.
Early in her career, Dr. Oh earned recognition for her professional contributions with the Massachusetts Dental Society “10 Under Ten” Award, honoring emerging leaders in dentistry. She has also been named a Top Dentist by Boston Magazine and was selected in the 2010s for Incisal Edge Magazine’s “40 Under 40 – America’s Best Young Dentists.”
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Oh enjoys traveling and exploring new cultures, cuisines, and art. She and her husband live in Boston with their two rescue dogs, who occasionally visit the practice to brighten the day for patients and staff. With her background in the arts, she also enjoys creating new artwork whenever time allows.
