Dr. Quinn Chan is a highly trained prosthodontist and restorative dentistry specialist who focuses on restoring oral health, function, and esthetics for patients with conditions ranging from single-tooth deterioration to complex full-mouth reconstruction. With more than two decades of experience in dentistry and advanced prosthodontic care, Dr. Chan specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of complex dental problems, including tooth wear, bite disorders, failing dental work, missing teeth, and implant-supported restorations.
Over years of treating patients with significant dental breakdown and cumulative trauma, Dr. Chan has developed deep expertise in rebuilding the functional harmony of the bite (occlusion) while restoring natural-looking esthetics. His approach emphasizes comprehensive diagnosis, careful treatment planning, and long-term stability so patients can regain both comfort and confidence in their smiles.
With an academic background in biomedical engineering and biotechnology, Dr. Chan brings a unique engineering perspective to prosthodontics. He integrates advanced digital dental technology, precision treatment planning, and evidence-based restorative techniques to improve accuracy, predictability, and patient outcomes. This engineering-driven approach allows him to manage complex restorative cases with a high level of precision.
Dr. Chan works closely with periodontist Dr. Oh, combining their expertise in prosthodontics and periodontal care to treat patients with advanced dental and implant needs. Their long-standing collaboration enables them to manage complex cases involving dental implants, bone loss, and multidisciplinary restorative treatment, ensuring patients receive coordinated, comprehensive care.
Originally from the Washington, D.C. area, Dr. Chan earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia and later received a Master’s degree in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University. Prior to entering dentistry, he worked as an engineer at the National Institutes of Health, where he developed an appreciation for applying science and technology to improve patient care.
Motivated to combine engineering, medicine, and hands-on patient care, Dr. Chan pursued dentistry at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree. He then completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Connecticut, followed by advanced specialty training in prosthodontics at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, earning his Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Prosthodontics.
In addition to private practice, Dr. Chan served for more than a decade as an Assistant Professor at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where he was honored with the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching for his dedication to mentoring dental students and residents.
Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Chan is a respected and trusted medical-legal dental expert, called upon to review complex cases and evaluate standards of care in dentistry. This work reflects his exceptional analytical ability and meticulous attention to detail. With a deep understanding of the relationship between oral health, function, and overall well-being, Dr. Chan approaches every case with precision and care. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Chan enjoys playing acoustic and electric guitar, photography, and working with computer technology. He and his wife enjoy traveling and spending time with their two rescue dogs.
