Gum Recession Surgery

Gum Recession Corrective Surgery

When the roots of a tooth are exposed and unprotected, gum recession has occurred.

Gum recession can be corrected through a corrective gum grafting surgery, a process where the roots will be covered with tissue taken from the palate or another donor source and placed over the exposed root. Gum graft surgery not only repairs the gum tissue, but protects from further recession, bone loss or decay. It can also help reduce teeth sensitivity, improve function, and improve esthetics.
