As part of our move toward incorporating the latest advances in digital dentistry and CAD/CAM technology, the 3Shape TRIOS intraoral scanner allows us to take high definition three-dimensional color scans of your teeth with ease, speed, and accuracy.
As the wand-like, handheld TRIOS device is moved across your teeth, it records 3D digital impressions that appear on a nearby monitor screen. In addition to avoiding the messiness and sometimes lengthy time that traditional impressions and molds can take, these color digital impressions taken by the scan allow us to evaluate a your clinical condition from a different perspective, can be combined with Cone-Beam CT data to aid and improve planning for implant surgeries, and be used for fabricating CAD/CAM derived dental restorations such as crowns, bridges, implant supported prostheses, and conventional complete dentures.
The TRIOS scanner is also able to measure the color shades of your teeth and measure changes in your teeth over time, allowing us to track things like gum recession and teeth wear from grinding. This quick, comfortable process adds important tools to help CDMR’s specialists better treat your dental needs.
